Downtown Norfolk packs it all into a walkable sight-seeing self guided tour. The Cannonball Trail takes you through over 400 years of American History. Visit and learn about the success of Virginia’s Underground Railroad sites located along the waterfront.

Throughout downtown Norfolk you’ll find amazing local restaurants serving unique mouthwatering dishes. The Waterside District is a revitalized waterfront gathering area full of casual dining, bars, and live local and national music performances. Around the corner, visit the famous Granby Street for more variety of dining and drinking experiences shared with its many music and entertainment venues, you’ll be sure to find something that meets your taste.

Norfolk is a port city and home to the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Forces Command. Get a chance to see some of the world’s largest active warships and naval ships docked across the river. Or visit the famous maritime-themed science museum and step aboard the World War II Battleship Wisconsin. 

Mermaids have become ingrained in the Norfolk culture. The Mermaids on Parade event hosted  by the community led to over 130 sculpted mermaids placed throughout the city.
